The new season work party kicked off on 12th March with a 7 strong gang who had a great week tackling a number of jobs on the lake. The remaining cabins have all been re-felted and painted and each swim now has it’s own weighing station. All the shower blocks have been overhauled, pumped through and cleaned ready for our first guests. Additionally, a large part of the week was spent on cutting and dragging the weed – hard graft but very rewarding!
On 19th March, our ground workers arrived to begin the repair work on the tracks – we are commencing with the worst affected areas in swims 1&2 and 3&4. The tracks are also being tidied up, cutting back the foilage for clearer access. To the front of the venue, a new parking area is shaping up which will provide spaces for new guests arriving in the mornings on change over day.
By the end of 2011 we plan to have power to swims 1&2 and 14 – please bear with us while we make these continuing improvements to the lake which we hope will make your fishing experience even more enjoyable.
Finally, congratulations to Mick Riddell for the only catch on the first week of the work party – he landed a 46lb beauty – well done to him as it was hard going! There were a few fish showing around the edges but they were not giving themselves up easily!
Thanks to Tom, George, Mick H, Mick R, Mark and Rick for all the hard work in preparation for opening on the 2nd April.
Good luck to all the anglers visiting the lake in 2011.
