Into the second week at the lake and a mixed week of 9 anglers. Some have fished the lake before and some are newbies so a good mix to see what happens. After the draw the swims chosen were 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 7 & 8, 10, 11 & 12. I stayed for the second week in my cabin as I had my children with me once again. The weather was still good with warm sunny days and cool at night and it was set to last well into the next week. The fish were becoming more mobIle now so it looked good for some action. I was getting liners now and could see groups of fish fizzing in certain areas. I was hopeful of some early action and James in 10 landed a PB of 57lb mirror on the first night so we were off to a good start. By Sunday afternoon I also had a 57lb mirror at 4pm. The spots I was fishing were the same as last week where by now I had seen action from all of them so it waa just a case of baiting up little and often as I felt they were not ready for a big glut of boilies yet. By Tuesday morning there had not been many fish caught but the ones who were, were the bigger fish. Mick in swim 8 had a PB 57lb common and I added to my tally with a 41lb mirror and a 60lb leather so was very pleased there. The next 24 hours were busy with 7 more fish coming out. Jed in swim 12 had a 33lb and a 49lb mirror. Lloyd in swim 11 had a 44lb mirror. James in swim 10 had 2 more PB, a brace of commons, a 47lb and a 61lb common so he was well pleased. Also with another PB was Ross who had moved from swims 3 & 4 to 5 & 6 – he landed a 55lb mirror and Billy also had a 34lb mirror – not bad at all. By Thursday 6 more fish were out.Lee in swim 7 had a 51lb and a 39lb mirror and Ross in swim 6 added to his tally with a 40lb mirror. Bill in 5 had a 42lb mirror. I managed to catch a 44lb common and a 45lb mirror and thre were two more nights to go.
Thankfully it didn’t go quiet – Billy had a 36lb mirror and a PB 57lb mirror so I was well pleased for him. Ross added another 50lb mirror and Lee had three more – 33lb, 41lb and a 39lb common. Lastly but by no means least, Mick in swim 8 had a 33lb and a 30lb mirror. What a great end to a great week with 27 fish coming out of the lake. Until next time – tight lines 🙂
